2012 - Closebourne Village, Morpeth

Lend Lease’s Closebourne at Morpeth has won a prestigious award – with the development’s retirement living homes recognised as part of the 2012 HIA Awards for the Hunter region.

Hunter Coast Homes was awarded the Villa Development of the Year Award for the homes it has built as part of Stage 3 at the Morpeth retirement community. Known as Closebourne Village, the retirement community is part of the $100 million Closebourne at Morpeth project which also incorporates residential living.

Judged by industry professionals, the annual HIA awards acknowledge the talent of designers, builders, suppliers and manufacturers who plan and construct quality new housing, renovations, kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor projects.

Scott Mackay, Lend Lease Development Manager Retirement Living, said the award confirmed Closebourne Village as a first class development for over 55s.

“These awards showcase the region’s finest projects and celebrate innovation and leading practice so we’re really excited that Closebourne Village has won this accolade,” Mr Mackay said.

“Closebourne Village provides residents with affordable and modern homes in a historic rural setting. We’re very proud of our village and all of the staff and residents work hard to make it a fantastic place to live.”

Closebourne Village offers a range of modern two or three bedroom villas with attached garages. The stylish, light-filled homes feature generous open plan living and dining areas, and large master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

The Closebourne at Morpeth development has two magnificent heritage listed homes built by the founder of Morpeth, Lieutenant Edward Charles Close, in the early 1800s. Both Closebourne House and Morpeth House are being lovingly restored as part of the project.

The site’s historic Chapel has also recently been restored and is acting as the Closebourne Village Club House.

The award automatically nominates Huntercoast Homes for the national HIA Awards to be held in Melbourne.

Closebourne at Morpeth is being developed by Lend Lease.
